Update: HOMECOMING!
Frankenweenie <- Due to the graphic nature of this photo, I’m posting a link. AJ has 21 staples from his back surgery, and they shaved the area for the incision.
AJ was well enough to come home today! He is doing really great, walking, but still wobbly. He is on a strict crate confinement for 2 weeks, but he had a successful homecoming and is resting. So begins the road to full...

update
AJ made it through surgery fine; he had a blown disc and wads of hematoma around it, but his spinal cord looks good and uninjured. The surgeon fixed everything. AJ is on heavy pain meds, and his full recovery and prognosis look promising. Good news…keep paws crossed! He should be home by the weekend. His buddy Oskar misses him dearly.
